The events in 2026 in Duisburg and Düsseldorf

Duisburg itself boasts many wonderful and unique events in the city center and at the MSV Arena. Since our hotel is located in southern Duisburg, Düsseldorf, with its Mercure Arena, trade fair grounds, and city center, is also within easy reach. Here is a short list of exciting events this year.

Events in Duisburg

April 26th: Spring festival with arts and crafts market in the city center, including Sunday shopping.
10.5. Rhine-Ruhr Marathon
June 12th – June 14th: Dragon Boat Fun Regatta in the inner harbor
June 19th – June 21st: The Traumzeit Festival in Duisburg
June 27th – 28th: Extra shift in the inner harbor and the landscape park. Fireworks on Saturday in the inner harbor.

July 16th – July 19th: Duisburg City Festival in the city center
July 30 – August 2: Wine Festival in Duisburg City
August 16th: Ironman in Duisburg
August 21st – 24th: Ruhrort Harbor Festival with a large fireworks display and funfair on the Rhine
September 19th – 20th: Duisburg Auto Show in Paint and Chrome in the City Center with Sunday Shopping
September 25th – 27th: Street Food Festival in Landschaftspark Nord
October 25th: Mystical Neumühl with medieval market
October 25th: Duisburg Pumpkin Festival in the city center with Sunday shopping
6.11. St. Martin's Day parade in the city center and districts
November 22nd – December 30th: Start of the Christmas market in Duisburg city center, including a Sunday shopping day on December 20th.

In addition, there are the home games of MSV Duisburg ( https://www.msv-duisburg.de ) and the Rhein-Fire football team ( https://www.rheinfire.eu ), which are held at the Schau ins Land Reisen Arena. This is only a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The West German Football Association (FVN) also hosts the DFB tournaments for the U14-U18 age groups for women and men. These take place at the sports school in Wedau. 

Recurring events:

  • The marina market returns to the inner harbor on April 5th. This market, held in a pleasant atmosphere, takes place on the second Sunday of each month from April to October.
  • Starting May 7th, "Jazz on the Square" takes place every first Thursday of the month in the city center. A fantastic music event in front of the city theater and the Mercator Hall.
