Restaurant recommendations
Since we only offer breakfast, we'd like to recommend a few restaurants and bars. Please note that Duisburg has five fantastic fine dining restaurants – but only two are listed here – we simply don't have enough space. We're happy to help you find more. If you have any further questions, please contact reception – they're sure to know a few insider tips.
ATTENTION: Many restaurants in Duisburg are observing a "French Week"! This has nothing to do with the food; the term comes from France, where restaurants are usually closed on Mondays to give their employees a day off.

Pizzeria Regina www.pizzeria-regina.de Distance approx. 50 m
A small, very affordable pizzeria run by two Indians. Good pizza, nice pasta dishes, and everything is available for takeaway. The Indian curries are also quite good. Perfect for a quick bite – but not a romantic place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.
Meeting point: Phone 0203-3938373, distance approx. 150 m
A very unassuming Yugoslavian restaurant, but the food is fantastic. The whole family works here. A sure thing – good food, large portions, and very reasonable prices. On football days, you can watch the games on a big screen at the bar. Cash only – closed on Mondays.
DarBar www.darbar-duisburg.com Distance approx. 150 m
A small Indian restaurant with exciting cuisine. Its 4.7-star rating on Google confirms my opinion. Indian food at a great price, but with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Everything is homemade – even the relishes. Give it a try – it's worth it. Oh, and there's also a nice ice cream parlor attached. Closed on Tuesdays.
Fish Restaurant „Atlantic“ 0203/60859828 Distance approx. 250 m
A fish restaurant in Duisburg? Yes, and what a restaurant it is! But don't expect candles, a white tablecloth, or alcohol – just incredibly fresh fish. Your host is Turkish, and his faith forbids alcohol – but the food is amazing. An appetizer and fish platter meant for one person can easily feed two. You can see the fish in the display case beforehand and then choose. Closed on Mondays.
Haus Reuter 0203/770679 Distance approx. 500 m
Another Yugoslavian restaurant – also nice, just a bit further away. Haus Reuter has a small beer garden and a few parking spaces out back. They accept credit cards and are open every day.
Caldera www.restaurant-caldera.de Distance approx. 500 m
A fantastic restaurant – the owners are lovely and incredibly hospitable. The menu features typical Greek dishes, but of excellent quality! Open Thursday to Saturday.
The island www.insel-wedau.de Distance approx. 1100 m
A mix of Spanish, Italian, and Turkish cuisine – can that work? Absolutely! Tapas for starters, main courses from Italy and Turkey, and fantastic desserts. Yes, it's a bit of a drive – but well worth a visit for anyone who enjoys variety and Mediterranean cuisine. Parking is available – including for bicycles. Closed on Mondays.
Pesa's AllSteaks www.pesas-allsteaks.de Distance approx. 1200 m
If everything goes well, with their 800-degree grill, they probably serve some of the best steak in Duisburg – if things don't go well, which can happen, just complain. On top of that, the meat they sell is really good and there's a great selection. A little insider tip.
La Giaconda Phone: 0203 272 02 Distance approx. 3 km
One of the oldest Italian restaurants in Duisburg, with a menu straight out of 30 years ago – and that's not meant in a bad way. Spaghetti served from a Parmesan wheel, pizza with a pool of water you could lie on, and the cold counter – a dream. And then there's the wine from their own vineyard. Food like you're in Italy, and I don't say that often.
Villa Patrizia www.villa-patrizia.de Distance approx. 5 km
Italian cuisine at its finest
Patrizia and Nico have opened a restaurant in a small villa near the zoo that showcases a different side of Italian cuisine. It's truly fantastic and one of the best restaurants in Duisburg. In summer, you can sit in the garden, and in winter, inside the charming little villa. However, you should expect to pay around €100 per person for a meal with wine. It's well worth eating here, not least because of the three toques awarded by G&M. Closed on Sundays.
Restaurant Marmaris www.restaurant-marmaris.de Distance approx. 5 km
Besides the Italian guest workers, Duisburg also took in and integrated many Turkish guest workers back then. Naturally, they brought their cuisine with them, and it's much more than just doner kebabs and lahmacun. One of the best is Marmaris – on the banks of the Ruhr. The owner is incredibly friendly, and what her kitchen conjures up is simply divine.
Peter Pomm's Puzzeten Stube Distance approx. 8 km
A chip shop on a restaurant recommendation list? Of course, we're in the Ruhr area, and delicious is delicious – end of story. And now for something a little something to think about: The inventor of currywurst comes from Duisburg – as proven by old documents in 2024. Closed Saturday and Sunday. Best combined with a visit to the wedding mile – you won't believe what you see there. Parking available in the MM parking garage.
The lantern www.zur-laterne.com Distance approx. 4 km
Rhineland cuisine in brewery style.
Sour kidneys, mashed potatoes and applesauce, pork knuckle, and much more from Rhineland cuisine are freshly and expertly prepared there. Since the restaurant is located in the pedestrian zone, you'll have to walk a bit – but usually not far – there are plenty of parking garages.
Factory 21 www.faktorei.de Distance approx. 5 km
Fine dining in the inner harbor
Like Küppersmühle, but much smaller. Reservations are essential here. The chef is aiming for a Michelin star, and it shows – just not in the prices. Still a hidden gem for gourmets.
Restaurant Küppersmühle www.kueppersmuehle-restaurant.de Distance approx. 5 km
German cuisine at a high level.
Fantastic location on the inner harbor, right on the water. A beautiful view is guaranteed. The food is a bit more refined – but not pretentious. When the Somali chef comes to your table, let her charm you. You can trust her suggestions. The price for a meal per person with wine is approximately €50-75. The chef's new goal: to earn a Michelin star. It shouldn't be a problem – he already has three toques.
La Savi www.lasavi.de Distance approx. 5 km
A Turkish grill with truly fantastic meat. They also have Pesas all Steak. What sets them apart is the Turkish flair. The mixed grill platter served in a bread bowl for two is absolutely divine and you'll definitely leave satisfied. I promise!
